New name, same building. Bug's Learning Grove is the new chapter of Amy's Sunshine Center Horseheads at 800 West Broad Street — the former Broad Street Elementary School, with a full gym and fenced playground.
About the building →One center for every age — no switching daycares as they grow.
Each room is built for its age group, with its own teachers, ratios, and rhythm. Siblings stay under one roof, and school-age kids come back to a place they already know.

The things you'd ask on a tour, answered up front.
Parents choose child care on safety before anything else. Here's how we run the building.
Licensed by New York State
We are a licensed child day care center regulated by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). License [NYS OCFS LICENSE #]. Inspection history is public on the OCFS website.
Everyone is background-checked
Every staff member clears the NYS comprehensive background check — fingerprinting, the Statewide Central Register, and the Justice Center — before their first day.
CPR & First Aid certified
All staff hold current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification and complete the OCFS-required health & safety training, plus annual continuing education.
Secure entry
Keypad-controlled entry, every pickup checked against your authorized list, and photo ID for anyone we haven't met.
Low ratios, always
We staff at or better than NYS ratios in every room, and our family app shows you who was with your child and when.
Clean, healthy, allergy-aware
Daily cleaning and toy sanitizing, a written illness policy, and allergy plans posted in every room and in the kitchen.
See your child's day from your phone.
- Check-in & check-out. Secure kiosk at the door; you get a notification the moment they're in.
- Notes & photos all day. Meals, naps, diapers, milestones, and the photo you'll want to show Grandma.
- Message your teacher. Direct messages with the room, plus announcements and emergency alerts.
- Pay in two taps. Weekly tuition by bank transfer or card, autopay, receipts, and year-end tax statements.
Open before the first bell. Open after the last one. Open when school isn't.
Half days, snow days, breaks, and summer — the days that usually mean a scramble for a working family are just regular days here. Homework help, a real snack, and time outside.
